Conversations That Connect Us: CCC Begins Monthly Living Room Conversations

Ever notice how challenging it can be these days to simply talk—really talk—about the things that matter? At Unify Montrose, we think it's time to rediscover the power of conversation. No arguments, no politics, just genuine connection. And in a town like ours, where we all value independence, community spirit, and a good neighborly chat, this couldn't be more important.

That's why, for the first half of 2025, the Catalyst & Connectors Club will host monthly Living Room Conversations. These gatherings are warm, informal spaces designed to foster meaningful discussions, find common ground, and strengthen our community bonds ahead of important deliberations later this year on youth programming and local housing.

Next up, we're gathering at Bluecorn on Monday, March 17, to explore the theme "Democracy, Extremism, and Outliers." It's a big topic—but don't worry, there's no pressure here. This conversation isn't about labeling or finger-pointing; instead, we'll thoughtfully consider how society distinguishes between ideas considered mainstream or extreme. How do we honor outliers who've made positive impacts, like Susan B. Anthony or Frederick Douglass, while avoiding dangerous paths history has shown us?

No matter your political stripe or background, your perspective is welcome and valued. Montrose is special because we come from different places and hold different opinions—yet we share common ground. Our mission is straightforward: advocate for community solutions through open-minded collaboration, curiosity, respect, and a willingness to learn.

Bring your thoughts, bring your neighbor, or just bring yourself. There’s no prep required—just the willingness to listen and share. Together, let's make sure everyone feels heard, respected, and part of the Montrose we all call home.
